Big dogs for big hugs

I’ve been working my big dogs (I don’t have a name for them yet), trying to work out the final designs and my daughter figured out baby clothes fit on them.

I originally made one of these dogs for each of my children and then changed the design some and made a few more (they commandeered some of those too). Now I’m changing some details once again to see what I like best.

So far the first two designs have the ears crocheted on as a part of the head but this third attempt I’m trying out sewing the ears on to the sides of the head, making them look more natural. I’m not a huge fan of sewing things together when they need to be semetrical but I think for ears it will be fairly forgiving. Hopefully I’ll have an update on these soon. I would really love to offer them in the Sale Barn as their outfits are so customizable.

Recently my daughter helped me go through some of our old baby clothes and she quickly realized she could put some on these large pups, which I think is adorable. They can fit in premie and newborn sizes, though premie fits best around the neck. Length wise they go best with newborn sizes when it comes to footie pajamas or pants. I wonder if others would be interested in that aspect. One of my toddlers absolutely loves carrying them around but he can’t seem to ever choose a favorite and that’s more than okay.
