You loved your parent(s) with all your might but love wasn’t given back. It doesn’t mean your feelings became invalid the day you realized they didn’t care.
As a child you can only know what you are taught. It can be confusing when a parent or guardian appears to love you when others are around but does the opposite at home or once everyone is gone.
It’s okay that you loved them even if love wasn’t given back. It doesn’t make you foolish, it makes you human. Don’t give up on your God-given ability to be a loving person because of the mistakes of others.
Sometimes they only know how to act the way they were taught during their own childhood. This does not excuse their actions but empowers you to see the familial lines that need to be broken.
Satan loves to divide us – it not only keeps us from working together it also causes wounds. Satan especially loves harming children because it cause wounds that will effect them and their relationships all throughout their lives.
Jesus came that we may be saved and healed and to bring us together. He died for us to break the power of sin over us, which is satan’s legal right to work against us and cause us harm.
If you’ve never felt loved I want you to know that Jesus loves you. He does not want you to hurt and desires to heal your wounds.
Sometimes, because of trauma, it can take time to unravel the harm done in order to heal wounds. When your wounds begin to be healed you will be amazed at the way you feel: the pain will be gone. Keep in mind that it does take time and likely won’t happen over night (but it’s incredibly freeing and worth it).
I invite you today to give Jesus a chance and fully seek Him. Confess your heart to Him and trust Him to walk with you on your healing journey. Seek Him through the scriptures and spend time with Him in prayer. Don’t let silence in prayer discourage you but see it as a quiet time to reflect. Let Him guide you gently with love and peace.

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
