When Home Isn’t Safe (#1)

A lot of people do not understand what it can be like growing up after childhood trauma and abuse. Those who have not experienced it on some level during their lifetime never give it a thought due to a lack of awareness and understanding.

When someone who has been through trauma and abuse as a child grows their wounds grow with them. They don’t “bounce back” like others may think, they carry their wounds and burdens with them unless they can properly be healed from them. It can be a very lonely road their entire lives; one that they cannot properly express to others who do not fully understand what it’s like.

[Jesus said:]
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Luke 4:18-19

We would like to raise awareness for the children and adults who have endured trauma and abuse; those who have carried their wounds for what may feel like a lifetime. Our hope and prayer is that all who have endured these trials may find Jesus Christ and be healed. That they may know His love for them and that we understand them.
